During the past year Minh Long has seen the increase in Parallel Import Units into Vietnam. Customers are drawn to the cheaper prices offered by overseas dealers and hence make purchases through these Parallel importers.
When an engine is purchased, the Engine's Warranty, After-Sales inspection and regular maintainance of the Engine is of the utmost importance to the life od the engine. However most customers do not seem to realise these facts before the purchase as it is not clearly explained by these Parallel Importers. (P.I.)
As Minh Long is the SOLE distributor of Yamaha Marine in Vietnam, only Minh Long and its authorised dealers are able to give our customers a MANUFACTURER'S warranty. Parallel Importers cannot possibly warranty your product as they would have to send your unit back to the Country of Purchase. Parallel Importers usually do a shop guarantee to the unit and this is probably useless as they do not have the expertise and Spare Parts to immediately Service your Engine And if there is a serious problem with your engine, what are the chances of the Engine ever getting fixed?
As General Manager of Minh Long Sio Hock Chuan, explains, "When your engine faces problems, all P.I. will go to check the engine, then order the parts necessary to fix the engine overseas. Thus leaving your engine out of service for weeks. If your business is counting on your engine, how is it costing your company each day the engine is not in use."
Engine technology is also ever changing and only Minh Long regularly invites Yamaha Mechanics from Japan to specially train our staff. Therefore your After-sales and Regular maintainance is truly taken care of. The many advantages of buying from the Authorised Distributor include

"Minh Long is also considering not Servicing or selling Spare Parts for engines that were purchased through a P.I. We hope it will not come to this but we have to protect the interest of Minh Long's Customers and the Yamaha Brand." say Sio.
This decision will be passed by the board of directors on a later date.
