Operators regret purchasing Used or Imported Jet Skis |

Minh Long last month went for a Vietnam Wide Market survey and customer visit for our Wave Runner Market. It is during this time we visited all Jet Ski operators whether they were using Yamaha or not just to find out more information about their business. In some cases, the operators like Mr Vinh, from Nha Trang province had purchased many 2nd hand Jet skis from Countries like United States and Thailand. Mr Vinh Commented that the Jet skis were running perfectly for the first 3 months, after that all of them broken down with engine failure. In many cases we found there were many units that other countries like United States and Thailand would consider "un-sellable" in their own country are finding buyers in Vietnam. Units as old as 15 years old were seen purchased by Vietnamese Operators and only to realise after afew months that these units are not servicable anymore. Minh Long General Manager, Sio Hock Chuan explains, "Today many manufactures have stop making Spare parts for all products once they have stopped production for 5 or 10 years. Therefore purchasing a Jet ski of any brand that is older then 5 years old is asking for trouble. In many countries the Jet Skis are used for a maximum of 5 years before they are replaced with the latest model." Minh Long today is the only Jet Ski service provider in Vietnam. This means even buying a brand new Jet Ski from Overseas cannot guarantee that your Jet Ski will last for many years. This is because all other brands are non-existant throughout Vietnam and buyers have every reason to be wary. Looking for Spare Parts and Service for your Jet Ski is a major problem, as experienced by General Manager of Palm Garden Resort Mr Jose, who purchased 4 Units of Brand new 4 Stroke Jet Skis but now cannot find service or spare parts any where in Vietnam.
